the post below, which i just finally published, was written in nov 2009, while i was still house-bound.
today. right this moment, i am actually surprised to see my blog after all this time.
I recall at one point about a year or so ago, being frustrated over the fact that 'million dollar view' was taken on blogspot, but had not remembered that i had taken it.
duhhh.
i originally created the blog to write about my near death experience and what happened after, but i became so very far behind in other aspect of my life, tha writing about it took up too much time.
i may try to look back and give blow by blows regarding my 17 days in the hospital as well as my aftercare, and then some. so i will try to do that; can't make any promises.
thank you.

It's Good To Be Alive!
The title of my first writing here, is a lyric from the song "Born to be Alive" by Patrick Hernandez, which was a popular disco hit in 1979. However, when one has a close call with death, as I recently have, it takes on a deeper meaning.
Everyone says "You made the right choice when you called 911", but there was no choice. Either I was going to pass out because I could no longer breathe and die in my apartment, or I was calling 911. So as you see, there was no choice.
I had to phone 911 due to not being able to breathe, I am a chronic asthmatic who's asthma is under control most of the time, I have never been hospitalized for it, but on this particular day, I felt like my asthma was out of control. It was getting harder to breathe as though there was a weight on my chest and it seemed like I was not getting any more oxygen. When I phoned 911, I told them that I could not breathe and that I needed oxygen.
EMS arrived within 3 minutes with an oxygen mask and they gave me a shot of something that made me tremble. They carried me down my stairs(I live on the top floor of a walk-up)on a wheelchair, Luckily, none of my neighbors were around to see me being taken away via ambulence.
